Layered Abstract started as a simple color conversation-two hues brushed side by side-and gradually unfolded into a complex, intuitive composition. I built the painting in successive stages, adding and scraping back acrylic, drawing into wet paint, and letting accidental drips guide new decisions.
The result is a richly textural surface where bold color fields intersect with delicate, almost map-like lines. Some areas feel calm and spacious; others hum with concentrated energy. As light shifts across the day, different layers step forward, so the painting never feels static.
